I do not know what Im doing installing mysql

I tired and now I must beg for help.

I am trying to mysql 4.0.17-nt so I can install vb 3.0 rc2

I noticed that there was a nice sticky on install vb with apache on a windows 2000 server but nothing on window 2000 server and IIS

PHP is installed ( test o.k)

I have installed mysql via the win32 setup exe. Set my password and have the service running.

When I goto install VB with install.php is says i do not have permision to access the db in step 2.

I know I need to setup the db and setup user with grant or revoke permisions. But i am just not getting it.

I looked at the mysql admin manual but it seem all fuzy to me.

If some one could give me the lowdown on setting up a db and setting user permision in simple steps I would really thank you !

any help would be great !

OK I know some but not an expert. Gee getting avoided like a had a virus. !

Well I got it done. After spending much time I was able to get it install and VB3.0rc2 install

I can say it work real well with 2003 server.

Suprised know one offered any suggestion !
