Does VB 2.XX have persistent connections?

and if it does, how do I turn it off? When I set it up, I am unsure if I had it set on or off, if it's even there. Can somebody please let me know.

Make sure the variable in admin/config.php is set to 0. (I can't remember the name but it should be commented.)
