vB3 Hacks
 

Well, guys im actually quite worried already and we've just had given access just a few hours ago, I frankly am worried about the fact that we have so many hack out for vB3 that are "Full Releases" and none that are in the Beta Catagory, normally that should be a good thing but in this case it just means that the authors are unwilling to post their work as beta so it can be tested, as a result if it ends up a hack isnt well coded then we could have buggy forums which we dont want to deal with at all, so yeah im just worried about that and wondering what you all think about this?

Well, one thing you likely aren't aware of is that these hacks have alreayd been used on Gamma (which is essentially the same codebase as rc1) and was posted on fan sites well before vb.org allowed vb3 hacks.

So, much testing has already happened. The portal for instance, as been tested extensively and there are many sites that have been running it for months now. ;)

Maybe, yet RC1 still has some code changes from GAMMA and just because it worked fine on GAMMA doesnt mean it will work fine with RC1.

I think depending on the size of the hack or what it alters etc, For instance alot of PHP file and MYSQL, then it should go into the Beta section first just until it gets a couple of smooth installations on RC1.
