Good way to get members to read rules.

I'm sure that everyone faces that problem of people not reading the rules you put in a thread in a forum, and they end up posting in the wrong forum or doing something else wrong, so heres a good idea that can be done relatively easy.

Say you've just joined a forum, you want to go post into say a news forum which is "for news reports only", the person just wants to post his news quickly do he doesn't notice the rules, and now he's screwed up. A good way around this is if you can choose a sticky thread which will automatically appear when you click on the forum, this way the members will see the rules, and will "hopefully" abide to them. It's every Admin/Moderators dream!

that wouldnt be so great because then users will claim that its a bit annoying how your forum doesnt allow them to directly post a new thread,, instead what would be a better idea is to have the 1st post of that sticky showing on the top before the threadlist display so it can catch the attention of the users.

Considering that members should really only need to read the rules once, it wouldn't get annoying to see it just once when they register.

or you could have it inside the template for posting a new thread/ reply. then they could read the rules before posting a new thread or reply. thats my 2 cents
