Threaded Forum View
 

OK, everybody that hates threaded forums can move on...

I recently migrated from WebBBS, which is fully threaded. Even though I'm pretty sure that my users would eventually become accustomed to vb3 the way it is now, I would also like to provide support for threaded forum views since they've used this mode for the last 3 years. vBulletin currently says they don't have any plans for this mode.

It seems like most of the parts are already there to provide this capability. It would only need to operate in a forum view where clicking on an individual post would take you to that specific post. It's beyond my skills at this point due to my limited knowledge of php (which I could get around) and the vb3 template system.

We definitely need to get a Threaded view that will integrate seamlessly within the forum. Something that would list thread titles and their subject titles with collapsable pluses and minuses.

I'm not a fan of Thread view at all but I do have a sizable portion of my members that do prefer it.

Here is a thread from Vbulletin.com. Martin CX has developed a Threaded View that would be a good foundation to work from.
