Change table prefix
Is it possible to change the table prefix vb3_user etc etc. without problems? I want to make them original.
|
Change in config.php the table prefix and then change the table prefix of every table in phpmyadmin - shouldn't present any problems at all :)
|
for vb3 only
in vb2 adding a table prefix would require arse loads of hacking |
there's a quicker way for vb3 (im guessing ur using this, becos vb2 doesnt use table prefixes).
If you've changed your acp directory, open install/tableprefix.php in a file editor. Go to line 32, and change 'admincp' to whatever your acp dir is, then upload it to the install directory. Then go to BOARDURL/install/tableprefix.php and u shud be able to do the rest from there. |
I believe if you call the file tableprefix.php file in the includes directory it will give you the option to do it and then make all the necessary changes automatically. I haven't yet looked at this feature but I believe it should work.

Tnx for the response. I'v opened the tableprefix.php first and then you are asked to leave the config.php alone for a while, the first thing to do is running this php file and then change the vb prefix in the config.php. For this i had to shut down the forums for about 2 minutes to complete the process. :) It all went well.

--edit-- problem solved. Cookieprefix can better be kept. :)
