New forum request

Is there any chance we could get a new forum catagory entitled

Tutorials

There would be a sub-section inside entitled

Questions

So basically people can post their own tutorials on anything, whether it be on modifying vB in any way, or maybe tutorials on graphics, html etc.

The questions section would be where people would post questions they have regarding certain tutorials, therefor avoiding cluttering the tutorials with questions and crys for help :)

Please say you'll make it and let me be moderator MWAHAHAHAAH :)

hmm, is it really needed?

what do others think?

i'll let it open for discussion for now :)

Tutorial Forum would be nice... I usually like putting out anything from a simple graphics and such and it would be a nice source of info for people looking for ways to make their forums a bit nicer than they are when they start out.

I find lots of tutorials on this site, it really would be nice if they were put into one forum. They would be easir to find I think?

Gah! We don't need anymore ambiguous forum names that cause newbs to post in the wrong section. Besides, all the tutorials currently exist in the ?Hacking hints and tips? forum.

Sliding to another related topic for a moment..
Xenon, how about when upgrading to vB3 RC, rebuild or rename some of the forums that are analogous to one another.

The three primarily forums needing attention:
General Hacking Discussion
Support
PHP / MySQL

These three forums could literally be combined into one, being that I find the same questions generally asked in them all. Maybe make it more clear of the kind of content for each.

I would personally like to see "PHP / MySQL" renamed to "General Programming" or something, making it clear that it's open to other than just PHP or MySQL.

Still think it would be a good idea to have an area just for tutorials :p

Velocd: it is already planned to restructure the forums when vb3 hacking is allowed.
The forums mentioned by you are greatly involved in that restructurization already :)

MindTrix 12-17-2003 03:45 PM

So does this mean you would rather wait until RC1 before letting us have a tutorial forum?

Ryan Ashbrook 12-17-2003 09:32 PM

Better than nothing right?

why not re-organize the Hacking hints and tips and move all the tutorials to a sub forum of that forum, so that all tutorials are easy to find and located in one place.
