The reason I've posted here rather than the beta forum is I'm currently developing this hack, however it's not ready for beta testing yet. However I wanted to get freeback and throughts from vb.org members on if they see value in me putting time aside to make this for fellow members?

Hack Inspired by bb|Messenger by C.Birch

Goal: To create an inpage chat system built on a vb database to communicate with forum friends. Currently in planning / development stages.
I've worked out the flash code for video chat, and voice. And uses a lot of code from BB|Messenger.

Features:

Build v1.0
- Chat list, and Chat window intergration
- Friends List Intergration
- Real Time Chat via php/mysql
- Support for Private Messaging System
- Postbit / Show Thread Intergration
- Usergroup intergration for access levels

Possible Future Features;
- Real Time Voice Chat through flash and vb|Irc v1.0
- Real Time Video Chat using flash and vb|Irc v1.0

Low CPU Server Load,
Future support for vbulletin vb2.3.3+ & vb 3.0.0+

Screenshots to follow as I get each stage of development done. There is no ETR, Estimated Time of Release, since I haven't started beta testing yet, just working out Alpha scripts etc.

Have you gained permission from the authors of bb|messenger to modify their source?

C.Birch and I have disccussed me possibly taking over development of BB|messenger, however nothing is fully set in stone as we've both been busy with projects off line :)

vb|Irc isn't a replacement for BB|Messenger just inspired by it, as a different varient, however it has a lot of work before I can do anything major with it.

May add "public/private room" if able?
