Template / Style help
Could some one point me to an overview, instructions, a thread that discusses, or any other source to help me undersand what these fields do.
Styles Add Style | Modify Download/Upload Replacements Add | Modify | Add Set Templates Add | Modify | Search Add Template Set -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The terminology does not seem intuitive? How do Styles and Templates differ? What is a "Replacement"? When I get a Style/template/skin pack, where do the files go, how do I tell vB to use them? Guess phpBB made it look to simple? Was doing OK ther, but came to vB for all the other great features. |
A style is overview colour, table properties, CSS etc of the forum. Templates are where you can edit every apperance of anything on the forum (and I mean everything)
A replacement is a great feature for a 'Find and Replace' on your forum. Say if you have certain code that you want to use over and over again, you can add a replacement to say: Find this code Code:
<b>something</b><br /> Code:
{something} |
The best place to find out what this means is the Manual ;)
