What can I do here?
This is my problem.
I am implementing this new registration system into my site so that when a user registers on this form I have, they will get registered to my chat rooms, my message boards (vBulletin), and my email program (HiveMail). The only way to do this is that I have to erase all of the usernames associated with these things. Specific to vBulletin, I am going to just erase the usernames, but leave the posts... because there are over 1,000,000. The creators of those posts/threads are then set to "Guest" or whatever and their nicknames are deleted. Is there anyway so that when a user re-registers a nickname that had previously been used (and then "deleted") they can get back their posts/threads? Is there some kind of a hack for this? |
The only way I think this can be done, is to change the NEW user's ID# to their previous ID manually in the database.
