Britney Kills your computer

Apparantly a new virus going around:

Another internet worm was released through IRC networks. The worm is disguised as a .jpg picture named Britney.jpg from Angelfire. Whatever you do do not open britney links in Internet explorer.
An exploit taking advantage of holes in Internet Explorer along with Windows Media Player ensures the worm free passage to your computer, where it starts deleting system files and destroying the registry.
The effect of this is: no shortcuts work, no programs, except those already running will work. If mirc is running it will proceed by installing a script that announces the url to britney.jpg in all the channels you have joined. Some have mentioned that it even uploads sites.dat from your FlashFXP directory.

My lil brother had it on his comp, i couldn't fix his comp.. i had to reinstall winxp. The virus deleted/changed the file 'ntoskrnl.exe' wich is responsible for bootup, once restored the comp couldn't start or couldn't be fixed because of the registry errors. hehe he said he just clicked a link and didn't told me that it was a Britney link. :)

That'd be great if they always titled virus names with those of annoying pop stars. :p

Hmm I dont think id be on Angelfire sites lookin for Britney for some reason.. Anything on a free site normally is awful anyway. True for 95% of it :D

Sorry lol, and erm i wouldnt get stuff from kazaa thats britney that be even worse again... like a million geocities made by 13yr olds is the picture content on there :D LMAO
