Download / File Directory Hack
 

Hi all,

I'm starting up a new site which is basiclly a Betanews/File Flash type directory. I've decided to make it using VB as most of the PHP CMS systems just aren't flexible enough.

So I'm looking for a hack which allows me to build a directory of file links. I've installed VBLinkDIr which is fine for site links (and works well) but I've not been able to find a file link directory.

Anybody know of one before I reinvent the wheel?

I've been working on one for a while, and it's nearing completion. Locally hosted files, links, nested categories, vB usergroup permissions, download history tracking, uploads, moderators, etc. Since it's not ready yet I am not going to go into too much detail. Thanks guys, I'm hope that you all will like it. I have taken a lot of time to add the features that users of my first version had requested.

As far as a timetable goes, I'm hoping to start a limited, interactive beta within the next 5-7 days. For this I will be looking for about a half dozen people with good vB knowledge, some php experience, and a good html design background. I would like to have anyone perticipating to be able to fix small problems such as HTML coding or design issues that they find as well as to report them.

Oh, if you need designer, I'm good at CSS.

- DownloadsII
