what makes you decide to make a custom hack for someone? (like do you tend to make hacks that you'd actually use, or just something that would actually challenge you, etc)

I think the best would be something that challenges you in it's essence would be ideal ;)

need of money, time, and fun to write a hack :)

If I know I can write it in a timely manner for a reasonable price, I will reply to the offer. Most people just contact me directly, though.
