Does anyone know if there is a news script that works with vbulletin?
Hello,
I am trying to something that can grab topics off of a particular forum and rig them up on a news page (news.php). Hopefully it can auto archive news posts on a monthly basis... Does anyone know of something like this? I dont need a postnuke.. just something simple.. Thanks in advance... |

You emailed me but I can't email you back (I only mail through the site, not directly), so I'm putting this here.
That newsportal script is for vB2 only, not for vB3. I am working on a massive port to vB3 but I don't think I'll have it done in less than a month or so.... I'm making a very modular and extremely powerful new Newsportal, one that is exactly as powerful as you can want it to be... |
ah. that is strange you can't mail back!
no wonder it didn't work =] I guess I will wait for your Version 3 newsportal then. How far along is it? When I was using phpbb there was a really simple hack that I used for a news page, it simply grabbed posts off of one forum (the news one) and displayed the five newest posts. Is your version three capable of doing this at this point? just wondering. thanks for the replies btw. this is the closest I have come to finding something! |
Currently there is very little actual code done, because I'm building a highly advanced, completely modular portal system. I expect (but don't hold it against me if I don't make it) to have it all ready for release by january. If you have money to spare, however, and really urgently want newsthreads on your site, I can fix you up with some vB3-compatible code for that, to suit your needs precisely. There are also alternatives, like portals for vB3, but they do a lot more than just news, right now... (and are 0% modular).
