A Question for a Hacker
Hello,
How do I tell the following sql query to grab from all forums? Or set $forums to all? $limit=10 ; $forums= 19 ; $sql = "SELECT threadid, title, forumid, replycount, postusername, postuserid, lastposter, dateline, FROM thread WHERE forumid = \"$forums\" ORDER BY threadid DESC LIMIT $limit"; |

Hi Brad,
Now all I was wanting to do is just change the forums in which it grabbed the data that I already had. It appears you are grabbing all data from all forums. Am I incorrect? The WHERE forumid = \"$forums\" needed to equal all. Same data being pulled as I have it though. |
You said $forums needed to equal all? All forums or all what? That query grabs all the threads regaurless to the forum it was posted in. Isn't that what you wanted?

Original question,
How do I tell the following sql query to grab from all forums? Or set $forums to all? $limit=10 ; $forums= 19 ; $sql = "SELECT threadid, title, forumid, replycount, postusername, postuserid, lastposter, dateline, FROM thread WHERE forumid = \"$forums\" ORDER BY threadid DESC LIMIT $limit"; The query asks for certain items from whatever forum is defined by $forums. I am asking for the same items to be called from all forums. So SELECT threadid, title, forumid, replycount, postusername, postuserid, lastposter, dateline, FROM thread is the data I want, and the forums I need are from all. Not 19. So I was thinking this would work but it doesn't seem to. $sql = "SELECT threadid, title, forumid, replycount, postusername, postuserid, lastposter, dateline, FROM thread WHERE forumid = "\*\" ORDER BY threadid DESC LIMIT $limit"; Thank you, Hooper |
