(note: yes ive seen the number alot higher, just not this early (US EST time) )

Well its been a loooong morning so I think im ganna go to bed now, tomorrow I can start on my session class(s):tired:

since we upgraded to vb3, there are always a lot of guest around, i don'T know why ^^

Because they love the spiderable pages? ;) ^^

I'm almost wondering if vB3 is counting guests correctly... I've noticed the numbef of guests on just about any vB3 forum seems to be much greater than it was on vB2 (including my own). It's either that, or the new archive really does help a hell of a lot. :)

Xenon 10-13-2003 05:43 PM

well it's not the archive, as most of the guest don't even visit them (at least on my board the don't)

NightWalk8r 10-13-2003 08:10 PM

wow!!! this is true......never noticed it O_O
477+ guest now......ll

Archive isn't really useful to the spiders when the sessionurl don't show up anyways.

any url that doesn't have a query string always has a better chance of getting index by a spider than a url with showthread.php?p=213213213213

having a url without a hash helps, but a spider will index a url such as /index.php/t-123/ will typically have a better chance of getting indexed.

I don't think it is calculating guests properly...well I hope it is, because on my local host there are 5 guests :|

It's the spiders. :) I've had to block them from my private forums because they were pushing the loads up.
