For you laptop geeks..

I'm planning on buying a laptop.. and I want to get some opinions from you laptop users on which laptop is a good buy for $1500 or less.

I'm currently looking at the Inspiron 8500 from Dell (Mobile P4 2.2Ghz, 512MB DDR, CD-R/DVD Combo Drive, Radeon, WinXP Home, 30GB HD and some other goodies...). It comes out to be $1,432.00

Is there something out there thats better for that price range?

IMO, Dell is a bad choice. Go for Toshiba Satellite, it will cost you cheaper and is way better, components and quality wise.
You can get a 2.66G Toshiba laptop for only $1269.00...

Check the specks:

it will blow Dell by far in quality and options, plus is way cooler as design... I love the semi-transparent keyboard design.

A20 and A25's are both good machines.

I got mine from www.evesham.co.uk (Don't know if you're in the UK or not)

I was going to go for a Vaio - they seem pretty damn good (might have to pay a bit more though).

They are the worst company I've ever had to deal with. I'd stay well clear of that bunch of cowboys.

Are you kidding me - they got my laptop in early and I haven't had any problems so far. (Apart from a one/two bad pixels randomnly appearing then disappearing).
