network (that the right word)?
ok so i know that a couple members banded together to make a network but recently i've been thinking about an actual forum network, this would work in a way where if you ran a sports board for example that would be the members you'd like to attract so if someone else had a tech board they'd be happy to point folks wanting to talk about sports there. i dunno it's just an idea i had as i run a chit chat forums and thought what would be the best way to attract forum goers who want to just chit chat. i actually accidentaly tested this idea when i joined a forum and posted my link in their links directory and it was displayed in a prominant position on their site, i had a few members sign up just so they could chit chat which wasn't what that board was for. i dunno if you managed to follow me to here, what do you think of the idea of using different forums to compliment eachother, it's like 3rd party advertising in a way, as they're reach out for members in there own way and then their members would get reached out by you. oh well just an idea i thought of and thought i'd share

You would be better off building one super-forum instead of relying on links from other forums...

Egad.
For the love of vBulletin.org, please use paragraphs in your posts! ;) Text is so damn hard to read when everything is clumped together and nothing is capitalized correctly. Anyway. I believe what you are searching for are those things known as "Web Rings." Usually the larger ones aren't too easy to attract members onto your site, but join maybe a smaller or more topic-oriented web-ring that concerns your forum. Or a banner exchange network, go out and affiliate like mad. Affiliations are networks. |
Good idea actually. What you can do is use other forum categories that redirect to the other sites. :) In fact, great idea. So all these forums redirect to each other, forming a forum network.
