Unregistered people to View Index but not enter Threads

Is there a hack to not allow Unregistered users to enter a thread but they can still see the thread list? I'm using VB 2.3.2

For example....

Unregistered clicks the Media forum, i want them to see the threads available, but not be allowed to click the actual threads to view inside them

Try editing the forum permissions

i've tried that and all i could get it to do was either not show the forum at all on the index page for unregistered, or when "show forum" and nothing else, it just says "no threads posted" in that particular forum

If I remember correctly, do something like this. Open up showthread.php and find:
(2nd time IIRC)

And below add:

show_nopermission();

}

Its untested but should work
