weird occurance with my host.
I just had a weird encounter with my forum and my host too. I got a 403 forbidden saying I could not access the root directory or any directory for that matter. Then I checked my hoster's website and same thing there too. Then about 15 minutes later it was back to normal.... anyone know what could have happened?

Was prolly a server reboot if it took so long.

The thing I have noticed is that when servers are in the middle of reboots, they reboot service by service. The main apache server will be up, but will not be able to serve files, or may not have php running etc etc.
Edit: By the way this is when you reboot through a remote administration, that is the only way I have seen this happen. Though if it were down for a very long period it could of been just some minor service upgrades, which are insignificant. Edit 2: She/He stated it was 15 minutes, therefore it was upgrades, unscheduled downtime, or manual reboot (where each service is restarted individually, even then it should not take 15 min) |
