Subscribe to a Member
 

I did a search and did not find anything about this but I was wondering can someone develop a "subscribe to a member" option? We already have subscribe to forum and subscribe to thread but there are members who want to know when a certain member makes a post.

Also can you make it where when it sends the email notification that it includes there post in the email?

This is not easy to do and besides it is especially hard in technical respect to achieve in VB2.

Because you need to check all these member subscriptions after each posting and when your number of subscriptions gets high, it will slow down the posting process dramatically. (Consider 600 members are tracking 1500 members!).

On the other hand by using the VB3 cron structure, this can be done without putting a burden on the server. Though please note:
a) VB3 hacks are not allowed at the moment.
b) It is still not a 2 min. hack.

How about limiting the number of members a member can subscribe too?
