I'm hoping to buy a vB within the next couple of months and im wondering what is the latest version of vB that is on sale, if it is vB3, are there any hacks available for it yet as all of the ones on the site seem to be older hacks..

i'm asking this as I'm starting up a new message forum and the Store Hack is going to be an integral part of the forums, on top of that, im not planning on buying vB2.whatever, hacking it with the store hack, then have to uproot everything if the release of vB3 is imminent.

A public beta of vB3 is currently available, but vB3 hacking is not yet allowed to be discussed on vBulletin.org. The latest stable release of vB 2.3.2, which I believe is compatible with the store hack. A vBulletin license is good for whichever version you choose, and you can upgrade for free at any time.

so how much of a +++++ would it be to upgrade everything including the store hack to vB3 when it comes out of its beta version??

It's up to the hacks' authors to port to vB3, if they choose to at all. Some hacks are ridiculously easy to port or have their features already built into vB3. Some are monstrosities that could take a very long time to port.

Store hack for vB2 does not work for vB3 at the moment. Up to Lesane or yourself to port it.
