ok right off the bat i think it would look better with a logo image thats wider.

wow nevermind if you just read my forum one. alot of styles you got there.

those are my 2 cents on the head image

As well as what he said, the black text on the dark grey gradient does not look good. It's hardly readable.

Also, you could use a 'forum' link in the navbar for easier access from the portal to the forum.

Your huge avatars and sigs make the news thing look ugly.

Only custom thing I see other than the colours is the logo.

The skin is from vbskins.com i think...if its working as default correctly. I'm getting rid of the portal soon, ditching it for either a better portal or just a plain site. Also, the logos are random, user-donated. :D

Ditch the Times New Roman font. It looks unprofessional.

7harmonicz 08-05-2003 08:19 PM

yes the skin is from vbskins, i think its echo or something, the font is definately wrong for that board but overall its decent, Dont like using prebuilt skins though. That skin is used by everyone by the way.

mx3 08-14-2003 10:19 PM

Its called ekko, and i don't see it everywhere. a few other boards i know of maybe.....at least i didn't get the tren_z one, that one is everywhere.....

Not sure where the times new roman font is....I got rid of the portal in favor of a new one that isn't complete yet. But i don't see any times new roman font anywhere.....

I also cut down on my crap skins and kept some of the better ones.

How's your bandwidth usage with the ekko skin? I was part of a forum that ran it and IMO the bandwidth was rediculous. Anyone got input on this?

mx3 10-16-2003 02:57 AM

Yeah, bandwidth is a bit harsh....But soon enough I might not have that skin anymore ^_^ I ordered a custom one that IMO is pretty cool, even though all I've seen has been a preview of the header. Also, the current portal was coded by me, so no more vBPortal ^_^ I customized mine so that all those huge avatars and sig images and things won't mess it up.
