Searching bug?
I want to search for the word "beyond" I knew this was in the badwords.php, but I have cleared my badwords.php file out so I know that it isn't blocking it because of something in there. I still have the header and footer part in my badwords.php file, I just took out all the words because I want my search feature to actuall search. Anywho, can somebody tell me why my search feature still won't find the word beyond in any posts, even though I have a post that was posted today that has the word in it?
I'm confused. Shouldn't this work? |
Dont remove badwords.php contents, it will kill your search index.

I didn't say I removed it. I deleted all the entries in it and left the top and bottom. I also noticed that it has started to do it with other words as well. Is there a limit to how big a search index can be? If I put in the word "far" it finds two results. If I put in the words "far cry" it finds two results. If I put in the word "cry" it finds 84 results.
I'm wondering if the search index can only get so big before it starts overwriting itself. I checked and my search index has 4,449,304 records and is 105.2 MB but my site is just starting. I have a lot of entries and I one single letter searches due to the function of my site. Could I have some how hit a problem with the search feature of VB? Should I try and rebuild my search index to fix the problem? Could rebuilding the search index take a lot of time due to the site and records I have? Please help as the search feature is a major function of my website. :( |

Please don't bypass the bad-words filter :)

Did you rebuild the search index?
Few people will reply if you constantly bump, so beware. |

Should I rebuild my search index and see if that fixes the problem I was having? :paranoid: |
Because beyond was in badwords.php before, it was never added to your searchindex.
So to add it back, you need to rebuild your searchindex. |
