Spell Checking - PHP not Perl
 

Hi,

Just wondering if there is interest from anyone for a PHP spellchecker script rather than a Perl one? Looking at the current ones in use it seems (Although I don't know perl too well) that they are executing ASpell once for each word being checked, which is highly inefficient and places greater load on a server.

So is there interest in a PHP version at all?

Hi Karl, well, just taking a look at some of the posts in this thread you can see that a lot of people would like to see a PHP verson of the script (myself included).

I think this is mostly because PHP is a lot easier to use and install than anything CGI or perl based, but if your one can offer faster access as well, then that's a fantastic addition.

I'd go for it if i where you :)

Believe it or not it's been sat there since April 2002 not being used, never realised till today that there was any sort of interest in it till someone mentioned it.

that looks exactly like something i could use, it would be great to give my members a spellchecker, will you release it?

Seems like there is demand for it, so yeah, I most likely will do. Need a bit of code tidying first mind you and I need to do the JS to integrate with vb, but that's no big issue.
