Making a News Script ..help me finish :)
 

Hi,

Yesterday i started making a news output based on vBulletin software.
I installed the vBHome Lite too, but the vBHome lite is more functi?nally for the Forum overview..and members can see whats going on in the complete community..

so the News or article Option wasnt enough to make "just" a good styled news site with proffessional looking layout.. i decided to work out my own news site :)

I would release everything as Hack if somebody needs that :)

What this News HAck does?
It shows up News from specified Forums you choose, you have LATEST HEADLINES, TOP NEWS and a Free option on the third collumm to show what you need (links, movies, banners, buttons, partners)
So the "TOP NEWS" are parsed with smilies and the attachment file you upload, if y<ou upload an Picture it will be shown as "thumb"..later i decide to integrate GD for complressed thumbs.. but in this BETA stadium i will first finnsh everything

Wich option will come with this script
- As many News Forums you want to choose can be integrated via config file
- Comment option and display of written comments
-archieving function, so News can be shown over multiple pages.
- news subscribing
- whole seperate navigation thorugh news categories
(so everything is forumbbased and writtn within Threads, but to brwose news forum categories i started figuring out an option to navigate through without to be in the forum, so maybe it a kind of forumfdisplay.php but on another way...so the navigation is forum seperate..but based on it :)..

Need Help
- With GD functions..to make output of the attachments as thumbs
- archieving function (will figure it our somehow, but maybe anyone got some hints)
- News-Topic Icons only in news forum chooseable (working on it but maybe anyone got also a hint here :) )
- Everybody who wnats help me here, can work it out with me together :)

for later i would satrting figuring out news archiving over multiple pages .. that shouldnt be a big guide .. but really powerfull :)

..the first step should be the thumb or atqachment integraqtion on right or left side ..so i just starting now (thx Lee) reading some tutorials for GD

Okay im finally getting to the frst finishing line :)

the example site changed to BETA stadium :) and if someone wants this news script as a hack i will release it after i make an install routine :)
