There hasnt been a release in a while...whats going on?

Is everyone just playing with the vB3 ?

Yes, thats because most hackers are looking at the new code in vB3 and getting read to port/release when vB.org allowes vB3 hacks.

Yea, no point in making new hacks for vB 2 with vB 3 coming out so soon. I for one have put all my current hacks on hold until a stable RC or gold is released.

Also, with way over 1000 hacks already released, the ideas are running thin.

I've developed some nice hacks for vB3, and am eager to release them--but, alas, you cannot release vB3 hacks yet! Release Candidate doesn't seem likely to be coming out anytime soon, so this place will probably remain empty of new hacks for awhile..

Maybe we could shift the rules a little, and allow vB3 hacks? They could be restricted to the beta hack forum, I mean, being that's what a beta hack forum is for.

People already know that forum is for hacks that are susceptible to not working, but the author or anyone else can't be held responsible for.

Revolt I say! er.... I mean, would you so kindly listen to my opinion. ;)

We are trying to discourage hacking at the Beta Stage because it will create complications with bug reporting. It is also noted that the code and templates WILL be changing when RC comes out as well.

Be patient - :) - the time will come when vB3 hacks will flow like running water here.

One good thing about conditional templates in vB3 - I can do a lot of things without hacking my site.

I have vb3 running on my PC and have already ported a couple of my hacks to work with it, but I'm still not sure if I'm gonna upgrade or not.. I think the vb2 admin CP is much more user friendly than vb3 from what I've seen.. :( I guess its just gonna take some time to get used to it.

So I'm wondering if people will still be allowed to release/support vb2 hacks once vb3 goes gold?

I stopped hacking vB2 entirely, right now I'm working on vB3 hacks, of which I will release once vB3 goes RC and we can submit them here. :)
