Trying to install PHP 4.3.2 with Zend Optimiser

We are trying to install PHP 4.3.2 with Zend Optimiser, but when we try and view phpinfo (phpinfo.php contains "phpinfo();"), all it outputs is a blank page...

Why?

We decided to delete Apache and PHP, and start again:)
