Is this an actual template somewhere? or is it something else, how does it work to call the custom fields from the DB?

Use $post[field#] to diplay the custom field in the post bit. # being the number of the field you want to display.

Well what i'm doing is trying to change the custom fields into a more usable feature. I have changed the admin side now im trying to get the pages to load in the use CP but when it displays the fields from the new table i made it has the wrogn information in the new custom fields. It shows the information only for the original custom fields
