over 15 guests from inktomisearch?
 

Hi guys,
i need your help, becuase since yesterday are over 15 guys on my board with the ip

j3150.inktomisearch.com
j3193.inktomisearch.com
and other...

The robots want quoting, read faq, register, reply but since over 14 hours, it´s not realy funny because i also banned the ip and closed the board for guests, but the robots can read topics.

It´s normally the spiders indexes over 20 hours? :dead: :alien: :hurt:

That's normal, Ruffneck...... and it can go on like this for several days. No need to worry, they can't get anything you don't allow them to see.

We have 78 guests online now, and only about 10 aren't Inktomi :)

yeah, same thing here, over 45 guests. all of them are from inktomisearch.com

this is a good thing though, right?

should I allow guests access to all of the forums so that they are able to index all my forums pages?

Or will they see them all automatically no matter what?

It's been going on like this for me for probably a week now... :-/

I fixed mine by locking the little bastages out in httpd.conf but an .htaccess in your web (or forum) root should do the same thing.

allow from all
