"Word Association" topic reply counts?

Ok, nearly every board has them..
I thought it would be interesting to see the stupidly high reply counts that people have got them to.

So far on Umbrella Online, ours has got to 1625, is this normal..? :nervous:

Urgh, Word Association threads are evil :devious:

I can't remember the exact ammount, but mine had just under 1000, but a friends board had atleast 2000+

They're insane :ogre:

I locked the one at my site due to its idiocy...although I have an uber-long Javascript thread somewhere :)

LOL! We had one of those that started a couple of years ago when I still ran a "Discus" board (yuck!). The thread got so large that it stopped functioning there, and another was created. Somewhere along the line another one died, and we're now up to Word Association 4. It has 26,733 replies and 84,419 views. :D

:paranoid: That's insane..
They may be evil, but my users seem to like them.

Surprisingly I don't have a Word Association thread at DarkBlazes, but I have equally stupid other threads;)

At a forum I used to co-run, we had one which reached it's 9th incarnation, totally some 15,000 or so replies, and about 50,000 views...

One board I belong to has about 30 or 40 Word Association re-incarnations, totalling, well, alot;)

On one forum I was on we got it to 340 pages long, each with about 15 replies. :p

Chris M 07-03-2003 08:12 PM

Thats 5,100 replies...

Pitiful...:p

We have a 'now playing' thread on my old board that got to around 3,000 replies. I have no idea how 6 active members did that :??:
