After putting the forum back online all seemed well but after two days without problems...out of the blue this error:

Invalid SQL: SELECT COUNT(*) AS count,postuserid,postusername FROM thread GROUP BY postuserid ORDER BY count DESC LIMIT 1
mysql error: Can't open file: 'thread.MYI'. (errno: 145)

What can be done to trace this error?

Run the repair.php file which can be found when you download vBulletin. I would also recommend looking at the vBulletin.com V2.0 threads as there's mention of this problem.

Nuclion, are you using cPanel and the latest build of mySQL?

The sysop has moved the whole database to a new apache server. Some things are not working now, uploading files and they have chmod 6....so there is work to do. The repair script did the trick this time and the error is gone. Thanks for the tip to look for more info at vb.com. ;)
