Harry Potter Hogwarts kinda hack idea

'What about a Houses addon or something? Like the houses from Harry Potter. Members could choose what house to belong too, and then over the course of a month or so, they could earn points. The winning house gets a flag or something on the main page.'

So for me, I would have it so that members could join Klingon or Federation houses.

Now maybe it could be slightly alter, so that when members register, depending on their profile or a small questionnaire they get put into the right house. Like the sorting hat.
Then members could earn points for good deeds like the karma hack that is floating around.

What do you all think? Anyone feel willing to give it a go?

I haven't used either hacks so I can't really help you any further but that was just my idea.

Looks good... but which hacks do they use?

I believe they are custom. :) There's a friends-board (url ... ?) that uses a similar hack and they are run in about the same group of people, as far as I can recall. You might contact one of the webmasters, but I don't know if they'll share or not. *hehe*

Yeah, I know! There is also a Lord of the Rings and Smallville Board run by them. I sent one of the admins a PM once but I haven't got an answer yet. Maybe they are too busy? Damn... I really need those hacks. :(

Actually, the only Harry Potter board I currently know who uses this type of hacks would be www.hogwarts-castle.com They have some kinda questionnaire and depending on your answers you're sorted into different houses. Once you've done this, you'll have access to your specific forum's house with other members that were sorted there as well.

Anybody got any idea on how to make this?
