how to disable remote linking of avatars

due to limited bandwidth, I do not want others to direct link avatars stored on my server and use it elsewhere. i know by default, vbulletin avatars are stores in the database, so .htaccess doesn't do the work, is there any hacks available that does this?

.htaccess does work. Look for a post on how to do this by Xenon.
