Invision v1.2

Well, for my other forum that isn't vBulletin, I use Invision Boards. If any of you have worked with Invisions, you know they are a pain in the butt, especially the skinning system. Invision said that they were going to improve this system, but it is the exact same CSS system. v 1.2 did add some cool features that don't have to be hacked (ie warnings), but overall, the software can not compare to the ease of vBulletin. I really wish I had the money to buy another license.

I managed to find money that was scattered over places, over time, to buy another vB owned license :)

Use vBulletin and Invision. Staff on sites using a wide range of other board software (and heck some of those are pure <insert profanity filtered word here>)

As the thread starter states that CSS system can be painful. Apparently okay once you get the hang of it, but l don't do graphics so haven't got the fill info on it. vBulletin is easier though.

Most of the competing software has their own advantages and disadvantage in comparison to each other.

Yeap 2 vBulletin licences, and a private invision board for a specific technology (IBM database orientated) so l guess that says something :)

ib is good, but yeah the css part is a pain and if been designing for nearly 2 years (1yr pro) and i hate that part, the rest is fine works a treat its all just html

but thats css is just hell to go thru, i think they should REALLY consider the way vb has it set out, i also find that the default skin can look crowded on fixed widths, and if under 800px its can also by default cause stretching.. which means its 800x600 un friendly which altho purists will say is no longer a standard to design to it is sorry lol

but theres quite a few parts of ib that do beat vb ....

lets just say its deff the best free board by a country mile no argument there, but if you want a pro solution then theres only one.. and we all know what that software is ;)
