Hot linking avatars
Hello,
I did search the forum and found numerous topics on this subject but none of them helped me out. I am running vBulletin 2.3.0. I just want people to hot link without having anything stored on my server. LOL We just don't have the space or bandwidth for that. I would really appreciate any help that can be provided. Thanks again, Verity |
None of them work for you? There are about 3 or 4, have you tried them all?
Also, try replying to the hack's support thread to see if anyone has successfully modified it to work with 2.3.0; I'm guessing that someone has done this already. |
Look at John's thread at vB.com's Hints and Tips forum.

In response to Gary, I did try everyone that was available and none worked. Needless to say I'm getting a tad frustrated now. LOL
In response to filburt1, I don't know who John is but I'll go and take a look to see if I can find it. Thank you both for your responses, Verity |
Filburt1 thanks for that tip, but I still do not want users uploading their avatars to my site. They all already have their own sites they upload to, I just want them to be able to link their avatars to mine.
Thanks anyways, Verity |

It doesn't really have anything to do with the issue at hand. |
How so...? It's about preventing hotlinking.

There are 2 or 3 hacks that allow you to let your members use external hosts for avatars. Look for them.

EDIT: Nevermind, seems you found it... |
