Disable "subscribe to thread" in specific forums
Welcome to my first hack here at vB.org. :D
What does it do? You can disable the "subscribe to thread" feature for any forum you whish no user to subscribe to its threads. This can be useful if you have forums with very large threads, for which E-Mail notification doesn't make much sense anyways. The feature can be turned ON and OFF in the admin control panel at any time you whish to do so. :-) Hack version: 1.0 Date: 21st May 2003 vBulletin versions: 2.3.0 prooved, all ather previous versions quite likely, too QUERIES TO RUN: 1 FILES TO EDIT: 2 (5 changes total) TEMPLATES TO EDIT: 1 (1 change total) TEMPLATES TO ADD: 1 TIME NEEDED: ~5 Minutes I'll try to answer your questions and modify the hack according to your suggestions, so feel free to post comments. Screenshots can be found in posts no. 5, 6 and 7! |
Will this hack add a query for each thread in a forum?
|
No queries are added.
The hack uses one status-field of the $forums[] array which is loaded in showthread.php by default. The hack only comes to action in the showthread.php, not on the forums index or threadlist. |
I might be installing this one :) nice

I changed the txt file because I found a minor mistake.
Please be sure to download the updated file! @Koutaru: Thx. :) Here some screenshots. Admin center when editing or adding a new forum: |

Is it possible just to run a query to disable all existing subscriptions? If so what is it?
