Online status in profile?

I'm trying to get the users's online status to show up in the user profile.

I edited the getinfo template to show $onlinestatus but nothing shows up when viewing a user's profile.

Any ideas what may be going on? Below is an example of the code from the getinfo template I tried using. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your assistance,
Dave

Code:

<tr>
        <td bgcolor="{secondaltcolor}"><normalfont><b>Date Registered:</b></normalfont></td>
        <td bgcolor="{secondaltcolor}"><normalfont>$userinfo[datejoined]</normalfont></td>
</tr>
<tr>
        <td bgcolor="{firstaltcolor}"><normalfont><b>Status:</b> $onlinestatus</normalfont></td>
        <td bgcolor="{firstaltcolor}"><normalfont>$userinfo[usertitle]&nbsp;<img src="$userinfo[avatarurl]" border="0" align="middle"></normalfont></td>
</tr>

Did you edit the member.php file to show the online status?

You'll need this hack;

:)

Boofo: $onlinestatus works in the postbit, shouldn't it already be in member.php?

assassingod: All I want to do is display offline or online, nothing too fancy.

Boofo 05-13-2003 04:25 PM

The postbit use functions.php and the profile uses member.php. ;)

I'm not familiar with what I would have to add to member.php

I'll do some searching in the meantime, if you can offer any assistance before I'm able to figure this out, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Just use the hack that assassingod linked to above. ;)

assassingod 05-13-2003 04:58 PM

Boofo is correct. All it does is display whether the user is on or offline, which is what you are asking;)

Thanks for your patience, I'm new with this hacking stuff. Got it working and looking just as I wanted it to.

Thanks for your assistance!
