Suggestions?

I'm just about finished designing my forum, the only things left are the installation of a few hacks, smilies, post icons, and always those minor glitches...

If you could be ever so kind to take a look at the home page

All suggestions and constructive criticism are welcome!

-Nice image design on the forumhome.
-Don't like the header, doesn't really match your category images etc.
-Rid of the moderator drop down, only should be used for a long list of moderators otherwise it's just a space hog.
-Postbit design is interesting, but I don't like the way the author column is set out. I don't think the tables around the info suits your style very well.

Otherwise, very nice.

It's a pretty good start so far. Keep working on it, and I'm sure it will turn out pretty cool.

Cool color scheme. You should incorporate the logincode better into the page, however. It looks weird standing by itself in the middle of nowhere.

I also think you have too many forums for the number of users you have. With the forums you have, it is not really clear what kind of site you are running. You call it a "Web Tricks Central," but then you have forums for gaming consoles. Maybe you should get rid of the Gaming and vB section and focus more on web stuff. Maybe make new forums for "PHP/MySQL Help" instead of a vB section, as people can come to vB.org or vB.com for specific help with vB.

Last but not least, get rid of the moderator column if you aren't gonna have any. :)

Good job though, the board looks nice!

Thank you for the suggestions.

I was thinking the header looked out of place, when i made it, i had a mind block, so i'll try again.

Well, the board isn't even open yet, just about two days, and i haven't assigned anyone to be mod. I'll probably take your suggestion and get rid of it though.

I'll also try presenting the info in the post bit a different way as well, I'll see what i can do..

Thanx for the suggestions
