All can view but only specific usergroup can post

I want to restrict the posting to a specific forum so that only a specified usergroup can post there yet all other usergroups have read-only access. Of course the moderator of the forum should be able to access and fulfill necessary moderator duties.

This by Logician worked great in restricting posting based on number of posts. But in this case the number of posts is not important. It's the usergroup that qualifies posting privileges that I need now.

Thanks!

Edited to add: I wonder if I could use the hack above by simply leaving out the line qualifying by post counts???

In AdminCP there is a function for it.

As far as I know AdminCP settings for something like this is through access masks/forum permissions. I only want this to limit posting abilities of all user groups but one specific one to one specific forum. I *think* access masks/forum permissions would block the other users from being able to read the specific forum. i want them to be able to read but not post.

If I'm wrong about this please explain how it's done.

ACP forum permissions can be handled on a per forumand per usergroup base.

Just play around with the settings.
You should also read the manual of vb before you try to hack it...
