Does this mod exist?

Is there a mod that would allow me to have several ranking systems and allow the users (members of a bulletin board) to select, within their profile, which system that they would prefer to fall under? If they could also change to a different system during their membership and fall into the appropriate rank within the alternative system, then that would be great as well.

This is very important and if it were possible then I would probably buy at least two licenses.

Furthermore, would it be possible to assign these systems to a particular forum? So if you have a forum for (this is just an example) Lord of the Rings and a forum for Star Wars and wanted to assign the following ranking systems as choices to the appropriate forums (again, this is just an example): the Rebellion ranks, the Imperial ranks, the Fellowship ranks, and the Ranks of Mordor, each ranking system consisting of several ranks based on the number of posts, would it be possible? Is there a mod that allows this or something similar?

I believe this can be done in vb3 which uses a new usergroup system and you can apply to be a member of a usergroup etc :)

<a href="http://www.swg-de.com" target="_blank">www.swg-de.com</a> has a hack exactly like that... but I don't believe they will share the code.

Incase you haven't purchased vB yet and you can't view the hack DB -- it allows you to define differnet rank groups with different rank names, and I believe you can use HTML in the rank name to include an image.

Mist, when I contacted vB Sales and asked them this question, they replied with, "These features are not built in to vB. You would need to hack them in. You can try asking at the hacking site to see if someone has already created a hack that does this."

GaleForce, does this hack function as a hack for ranks or a custom title hack? I mean, does it allow a user to indicate in the control panel, "If member has posted x amount of times, then he/she should be considered xyz," or is it simply a custom title hack that would mean I would need to go in and manually add it?

Its both... You make different rank groups "Rebellion, Imperial, Hutt, Jedi" lets say, and the user selects in their profile which set of user titles they want. And I *think* you can use HTML in user titles to add images next to it (For instance, lets say they have 2000 posts and that makes them a 'Jedi Master' a lightsaber could appear under the title or something).

Have a look at these;

Also keep in mind vB support told you that vB does not support it because the most current release doesn't. vB3 might have something like it though (I personally dislike vB3 though, so if I need a vB3 feature I will just hack it).
