In need of major help
 
Please excuse me if it's in the wrong place.

After upgrading to 2.3.0 from 2.28, any new member that registers on my forums, is recognized as "Registered" in the admin CP, but in their posts [yes - they can post] it says "Guest" and doesn't show their avatar.

Can someone please shed somelight on where/how I can fix the problem?

Well honestly I have no idea, but if I were in your shoes I would just delete the forum directory and do a fresh install of vBulletin using the same Database info (so that your posts show up). I wouldn't recommend this except as a last resort as there has to be a better way :)

look in the db, does it have all those posts as usergroupid 0? if it's that then i think it's a prob in newreply/thread.php if it has usergroupid 2 (or whatever registered is) then i think it'd be a problem in the postbit part, in functions.php
