vBJournal Additions

The guy who wrote this fine hack seens to have dropped off the face of the earth, so I would appreciate it if someone else could take his idea and add some important features...call it vBJournal Deluxe or something. :D

Is anyone working on an improved vB Journal?

Original hack here: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...=&pagenumber=1

I agree with you, and I second the call for improving this great hack.

The problem with this, hwoever, is that many people have adjusted vBJournal to suit their particular web site needs. (For example, afterlab has done considerable work on his, but a lot of it is tailored to FFRepublic.com and not applicable for the everyday vB Journal user.)

Because I've done some minor work on modifying vB Journal, but am by no stretch of the term a code-hacker, I'd be interested in possibly organizing an improvement effort for vB Journal and take a collaborative route towards integrating the best ideas that all of us have.

Anyone interested in sharing their creations?

If you check the link to the original hack, you'll see that Anime-loo has stepped up to the table and is going to be re-working the hack. :)

I've integrated the store hack to work with the journal.
I'd appreciate it if Anime-loo could keep that in mind and keep the code relatively the same, so if I have to remake that hack, I won't get confused.
:p

Dave, I hate to inform you that I will be chaning alot of the code, but the database side of the hack will remain *almost* the same as the lite version.

Great work, Anime-loo -- I look forward to seeing what you can do for this great hack. Hopefully, there will be an easy transition for those of us already making extensive use of it.

Well okay just as long as I can recreate my addon without freaking out at not understanding where it goes :)
But I doubt that will happen :p

Dave.
