Browse board with cookies? persistant no..
..Don't know what I did to deserve this but it will remain at no, no matter what I say. I tried running this query:
Code:
UPDATE user SET cookieuser=1; Things that I did today that I can remember: Backed up all tables individually via Admin CP Installed and removed Quick Reply PM Hack Edited postbit template to move User comment links but didn't do it because of userID not showing up.. Installed test forums with new database on same server That's all I can remember. |
They might have to log out and then back in.

Hmmm, I tried that and it works. Which is the more ideal option, yes or no to browsing board with cookies?
|
Cookies is way better because you don't have to deal with that horrible sessionhash. However really crappy browsers and ISPs (*cough* AOL) don't fully implement them properly, hence the need for the shash.

I've disabled sessionhash completely on my site for 1 year now, and it works 100%. :) I make it compulsory for users to use cookies, and they are switched on - not a choosable option.
