Incredibly stupid people

/rant

I am so amazed at the stupidity of some people. I also am amazed that they have nothing better to do than to follow me to this website, find a post that I posted on....which shows my status as "hacker" and then point as though this is proof of my hacking expertise snooping into people's computers.

Besides the fact these people didn't stop to check out the name of the website, nor check to see what "hacking" this is all about....

Amazing to me that they believe that altering scripts of vbulletin and being a member of this site where I gather ideas for altering my message boards...makes me a criminal.

And so, they send the url of my posts to innocent members of my volunteer staff, telling them that I hack into their private computers.

 <---again

Me? Logician knows how funny this is because he has to rescue me from the bungling I do with the small scripts I've tried...and hire hiim to add the big ones.

Me? A hacker? (No...a customizer of awesome software but I can't even really wear that label. I know how to pick awesome people for hire to customize my site. They are the real "hackers"....the customizer of vbulletin software.)

They just think that a hacker must be a criminal who spends their time snooping into people's computers...Geee...can I roll my eyes here again?

Incredibly stupid people that would think they can send out links they find...without reading the content and checking on the website's name and function.

/end rant

The Internet is very intelligence-wise diverse :)

bharvey42 04-19-2003 07:55 PM

That kind of stupidity would really ++++ me off

eh, sounds like you got a problem sorta like mine. 6 months and this dude still chases me and my gf to every forum i go to, threatens to tear them down and gets banned about 20 times. *sigh* Not to mention he has about 10 lackies to help him, so yea I agree that some people can be incredibally stupid. Wanna hear the stupidest part about my dilemma? I've never done anything to him. When this all started the only reason he would give for insulting us was we were "too lovey-dovey", lmao. So either a) he's jealous of me being with my gf (cause he use to be close friends with her), or b) this guy is still chasing us because we were too lovey dovey, lmao.

The 2 main definitions of "hacking" from Websters.com that relate to computers.

Quote:

a. to write computer programs for enjoyment
b. to gain access to a computer illegally
Writing computer programs could also be interpreted as writing "snippets" or add-ons for the vBulletin software.

But yeah, people are ignorant and think only of the most common reference to hacking, the 2nd definition I gave.

here's something you might find interesting. I laugh at it all the time.

VOLUME 31 ISSUE 18 — 13 MAY 1997
Study: Uneducated Outbreeding Intelligentsia 2-To-1
CHICAGO—In a report with dire implications for the intellectual future of America, a University of Chicago study revealed Monday that the nation's uneducated are breeding twice as soon and twice as often as those with university diplomas. "The average member of the American underclass spawns at age 15, compared to age 30 for the average college-educated professional," study leader Kenneth Stalls said. "America's intellectual elite, as a result, is badly losing the genetic marathon, with two generations of dullards born for every one generation of cultured literates." Added Stalls: "At this rate, by the year 2100 there will be five smart people on Earth, swallowed whole by more than 12 billion mouth-breathers incapable of understanding the binary exponentiation that swamped the Earth with their like." High-school dropout Mandi Drucker, 16, said of the findings, "All I know is, we're in love."

LOL! I think 2100 is a little extreme, but I can see it happening by say 2105 :p

Hopefully your staff realizes the blithering idiocy of this simple-minded snoop and promptly filed the email in 'the circular file' ?
