Should I upgrade my forum now or after VB3 is released?
 

I kinda wonder when VB3 is going to be released. I don't want to upgrade now if I will be doing it in a little while. If my registration expired, how much does it cost to get the latest version of VB?

Is it going to be very difficult to upgrade? I was thinking of using this tutorial: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threadid=38545 but is it really only going to take 30 minutes to upgrade? I think it could end up taking much longer updating my forum. I haven't updated because I needed to keep all my hacks installed, including the frontpage and all the other non-VB pages I have working with my forum. Can I get some answers so I know when I should upgrade and how long it could end up taking me to upgrade?

If you take a look around my site, you will start to see why I haven't upgraded, it looks to be a major pain in the ass. :(

Problem is, if you have hacks installed, none of the 2.x hacks are supposed to work on v3.0.

Unless someone's hacking on your board, wait for vB3.

no one hack yet. :) How much does a new/upgrade license cost you know? Just wondering how many pretty pennies I'm looking at spending on getting the latest version when VB3 comes out?

if you take a look at that site you'll see that vbb2.3.0 $85 costs for 1 year and $160 for unlimited time...

i think vbb3.0 will costs about the same, maybe a bit more.. and vbb2.3.0 will cost a bit less.. But if i were you i would wait for vbb3.0 to come out.. vbb3.0 looks very impressive..

There will be no price difference. Also it's vB, not vbb (it's not called "vBulletin Board").

There's no special offer if I already have vb and I just need a new version? That sucketh. :( The $160 also gives you 1 year of free upgrades as the developers released them correct?

After you pay the $160 for an owned license, subsequent years to have upgrades (access to the members area) cost only $30.

So are you saying that I only need to pay $30 to upgrade to VB3? Or is that something new that has recently been setup that doesn't work with older versions?
