Bug in VB??

I have a pretty currently installed Vbulletin board. Me the administrator, nor none of my members or mods are recieving emails from the board. New members are not getting their email verification emails, so I had to turn that function off. And no one gets regular emails from the board, or auto-notifier emails from subscribed threads. I have checked everything over numerous times. Can someone help me??

Is this a request in exchange for money?

MistyMeanor 04-12-2003 12:59 AM

Umm no... do I have to give money for someone to help me??

Service Request in general is a request for service in exchange for money.

For other support, try the Support forum.

Upload mailtest.php to your forums directory (it's in the 'extras' folder of the zip file) and run it from your browser. Using your email address as a test, what happens? Any errors? Do you get the email?

1- Very likely your problem is related to the mail server, not vbulletin. I'd suggest you contacting your hosting company and tell them "a PHP script can not send mail" and ask what is the problem.

2- If your board is not hacked, you can ask for official support in vbulletin.com too. I'm %99.99 sure this is not related to vbulletin but maybe you'll relieved better if you hear it from officials. :)

This is what the server said in relation to Misty's problem...

We have a program called suexec which does not allow the user nobody to send outgoing mail using the server. We've done this to help identify spamming problems. If the script is set not to authenticate, then you may experience problems such as the one you're describing. Unfortunately this can not be changed for security purposes. I would suggest looking into documentation with the script to see if anything's been included regarding that.

Any way around this ?
