[NO BUG] Editing the title of a post no longer changes thread title.

I just updated myvbindex to the next version, but when I edited the topic of the first post it didn't change the topic of the thread. I know that in a standard vBulletin it doesn't work that way, but I remember being able to do that on here before...

It's like that in standard vB but it can have a time limit imposed, too.

If the request is urgent, PM a mod.

Tigga 04-03-2003 10:14 PM

Nah, it's not a big deal. The only thing I changed in the title was the version number from 3.1 to 3.2. I remember the last time I updated it to a new version it updated the thread title as well, so that's why I was reporting it. ;)

Xenon 04-03-2003 10:24 PM

that's the normal behaviour.

i think you haven't see it before, because you were in the time limit where it was possible :)

Tigga 04-03-2003 11:37 PM

I don't think that's true Xenon (though I could be wrong)... I'm positive though that when I updated from v1.0 to 2.0, to 3.0, to 3.1 that I just edited the topic of the post and the topic of the thread changed as well. I'm sure I didn't ask a moderator to update it for me or anything like that and the time between versions was at least a month each, so unless there's another way to change the thread topic, I'm not sure how it would have been changed before... :ermm:

Oh, and of course I realize that's the normal behavior of vBulletin. I just figured that there was a hack installed here that would update the thread title as well if the post was edited and was the first in the thread.

Nope... normal behavior. Mods can change the thread title by editing the thread in Admin Options drop down menu.

Xenon 04-04-2003 02:40 PM

Tigga, you are wrong here :)

it was always like that, we just have a very high ammount of time as limit here:

Quote:

Time limit on editing of thread title
Specify the time-limit (in minutes) within which the thread-title may be edited by the thread starter.

144000

which are 100 days

Tigga 04-04-2003 04:32 PM

Ahhh, that would explain it then. Thanks for clarifying that for me Xenon. :)
