How many queries does your index page generate?

I have 23 queries with a few small hacks installed.
(76.00% PHP - 24.00% MySQL)

how do i find out WITHOUT INSTALLIN TECKS HACK b 4 u suggest that

Tigga 04-03-2003 07:10 PM

19 (usually) with quite a few statistic hacks installed. I have it set so the statistics are only updated every 10 minutes though so that saves about 9 queries most of the time. ;)

 34 of em

dethfire 04-03-2003 08:12 PM

Tigga, that is a great idea. Is it difficult to do?

Tigga 04-03-2003 09:32 PM

It's not too difficult... The main reason I did it was because it was taking too long for my forum index page to load (ok, it was only taking 0.8 seconds or so, but that's still too long for me :p). Some of the queries took quite a while, so changed it to update a new table every 10 minutes, and then it simply pulls the stats from that table. It wasn't too hard to do, so I'll write up a quick install file and release it incase anyone else would like something like that. Check the Full Releases forum in about 15 minutes or so. ;)

@Tigga: i did really the same here on vb.org :)

but you can't release it as a hack, because it's special to the hacks you alread have installed.

Tigga 04-03-2003 11:16 PM

Xenon - That, along with your "Optimizing Forumhome" has been a lifesaver to my server I'm sure. :)

I'm not sure why you say I couldn't release it though... I went ahead and put it in the Full Releases forum and just included the stats that I have on my page as of right now, and noted that if anyone had any stats they would like added to the "cache" to let me know. There's not anything wrong with that is there?
I'll probably take it a step further a little later and set it where each statistic can be turned on or off in the Admin CP when I have a little more time... I just figured I'd release it as is for now since dethfire asked about it. :)

yeah i looked at your hack, nice way, and you can post it of course ;)
i just missunderstood something here ;)
