Biased?

It would be REAL helpfull if Hack creators Specified what Servers their hacks work on.

I use Win NT for my vB - Most hacks seem to be for Apache.

Wouldent it be helpfull to consider everyone and adding this in?

Thanks.

Not everyone has both platforms to test on, most of the time people just dont know a hack wont work on certaint servers. Thoese that where made with apache or NT in mind are always noted from what ive seen :).

Normally hack work on every server, just sometimes hacks have problems with special servers..

Thanks for the replies! I absolutly understand that.Wouldent it be cool if the posting system allowed for the Hacker to specify.
:) This would help guys like me out allot.

I got nothing against Apache - I also own an apache server.
It happens to be that this site is on NT and it is very active.
Hard for me to move to Apache.

Hopefully this higher powers will agree and ask Hackers to
specify.

Have a good one!

Hackers may not have access to different servers to test their hacks - they cannot be expected to know if the hack would work on Apache or NT. Sometimes it's obvious, if the hack involves specific functions that would only work on 1 platform. A lot ot times it's trial and error.

There will be no plans to make hackers specify the platform.

The thing is that I see so many hacks that I would like to use.
I read pages and pages of text.. but sometimes still not sure
if it will work on NT. So I hate to have to ask all the time (
Does it run on NT).

I guess we will have to live with it.

Thanks for your time.

Like Stefan said, if vB and PHP runs on Win NT, chances are the hack would work. If the hack is based on Apache-based things like .htaccess or modrewrite or cronjobs, then you would need to modify it for it to work with Win NT.
